PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Corporate Financial Analysis is an intensive, highly interactive, practical exercise oriented two-day program designed to provide brokers and underwriters with the knowledge and skill necessary to perform an in-depth financial analysis of an non-insurance public or privately owned company.

The main objective of the program is to determine how the financial status and operational performance of a potential or existing client can be used to more effectively market insurance products and services that match the client's risk management needs.

The program consists of two phases:

  • Phase 1 is a guided step-by-step process that establishes a logical, organized approach to financial analysis using the financial statement of a current or potential client.
  • Phase 2 is a full-blown case study that requires participants working in teams to perform a detailed financial analysis of a case study company's balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement and footnotes. The session culminates with team presentations of one or more aspects of their financial analysis

The program utilizes a variety of spreadsheet models to determine and test D & B Financial Ratios, cash flow adequacy, appropriate risk retention levels and the effect of time value of money on specialized cash flow insurance products.
